Laboratory Calibration of an Ultraviolet–Visible Imaging Spectropolarimeter

The ultraviolet–visible imaging spectropolarimeter (UVISP), developed by the Anhui Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics (AIOFM), Chinese Academy Science (CAS), is a dual-beam snapshot instrument for measuring spectral, radiometric, linear polarization information absorbing aerosol in wavelength range from 340 to 520 nm. In this paper, we propose complete set calibration methods UVISP ensure accuracy measured radiation data, thus guaranteeing reliability inversion results. geometric calibration, assignment field view (FOV) angle each pixel detector using high precision turntable parallel light source. addition, S beam P also analyzed. results show that residuals all row pixels are less than 0.12°. Based on spectral conducted at spectrum given FOV, relation between obtained fitting procedure. For radiometric uniformity responsivity corrected, function radiance output digital data established. To improve polarimetric measurement, proposed, validated experimental root mean square (RMS) errors demodulated value within 0.011 input polarized with different angles (AoLPs). Finally, measurements conducted, absolute deviations 0.01 when CE-318 sun–sky radiometer (CE318N) simultaneously measure degree (DoLP) sky zenith angles. These demonstrate efficiency proposed methods.
